Director Statement

This short film came to life in the whirlwind of a film festival, where we were challenged to craft a narrative on the spot using a designated prop (a garbage can), a given line ("to live here, you have to do it"), and a specific character (a delivery man). Recently, I revisited and refined it, honing the sound design for an enhanced experience. It marked my inaugural experience collaborating with a crew of over ten individuals and participating in the intense 48-hour film marathon. Surrounded predominantly by eager incoming freshmen from Emerson College, this endeavor also served as our maiden voyage in cooperation. The filmmaking journey proved both arduous and exhilarating, as we devoted one day to scriptwriting and filming, and the next to reshooting select scenes and meticulous editing.
